Algeria is a country with a rich and diverse natural heritage, boasting a vast array of flora and fauna that are unique to the region. Which range from the rough Atlas Mountains to the vast Sahara Desert, are home to a wide range of animals that have evolved to withstand these harsh conditions, also are characterized by a diversification of local fruit species and cultivars, this fruits are attacking by flies which are major agricultural pests that cause severe damage to their host plants, and are listed as quarantine pests in many countries. One working hypothese guided our research there is a wide range of Tephritidae species present in the Khenchela region, which depend on different types of fruit.The objective of our study is to establish a list of fruit flies and to assess their attacks in some orchards in our study region. One technique has been tested on two orchards, trapping of adults of fruit flies. Identification and enumeration of captured flies revealed two families Drosophilidae and Tephritidae, the second is the best represented, with the order Diptera.Our study has contributed new data to form an initial basis for scientific of scientific information on Tephritidae pests of fruit in Khenchela.
