Unveiling the Depths of Erikson's Psychosocial Theory: Empowering Strategies for Lifespan Well-being
Abstract: Psychosocial development refers to the lifelong process of psychological and social growth and change that occurs in individuals. Coined by psychologist Erik Erikson, psychosocial development encompasses the integration of emotional, cognitive, and social factors as individuals progress through various stages of life. This theoretical framework emphasizes the dynamic interplay between an individual's internal psychological development and their interactions with the social environment. This presentation delves into the profound insights of Erikson's Psychosocial Theory, offering a nuanced exploration of its relevance to fostering well-being throughout the entire lifespan. By examining the eight psychosocial stages, from infancy to late adulthood, the presentation aims to illuminate the intricate interplay between individual development and societal influences. In addition to unraveling the theoretical foundations, practical strategies for promoting optimal well-being will be presented. Further more, it is worthnoting that while Erik Erikson's Psychosocial Theory has made significant contributions to the field of developmental psychology, it has faced several criticisms, which will be highlighted. Key words : Psychosocial Theory, Lifespan Development, Erikson's Stages, Well- being Strategies, Developmental Resilience

Sports: A Catalyst For Social Progress Peddled By American Athletes
Abstract Sport is the most popular cultural practice that is sewn into the social texture and intersects with its driving forces: political, cultural, and economic. The playing field is, by all means, a terrain upon which social struggles and political debacles are reflected. For all intent and purposes, the article capitalizes on the American athletes' role in distorting and reshaping the political dialogue and tilting the balance of power in favor of the oppressed. The article address the politics-sport entanglement, be it conflictual or collusive, through a figurational sociology prism to deconstruct the athletes' protests in and off the playing field across the various social figurations. Keywords sports ; political dialogue ; figurational sociology ; social injustices ; commercialization ; bodily pleasure

A Scrutiny Of Algerian Efl Teachers Perceptions Toward Continuing Professional Development (cpd) In Higher Education
CPDs are the activities that encompass all natural learning experiences and those conscious and planned activities which are intended to be of direct or indirect benefit to the individual, group or school (Day, 1999). Yet, despite the benefits that CPDs offer to teachers, most of them are devoted to teachers of undergraduate levels. The current research paper attempts to explore the attitudes and opinions of English as foreign language (EFL) teachers at a higher level, specifically in the context of EFL higher education. It is intended to probe the different angles that are related to CPDs such as the teachers experience with the CPDs and their impacts on their knowledge, skills and practices, their needs analysis, their ways of evaluating CPD outcomes, and the hindrances that inhibit their participation in the CPD programs. To this end, research was conducted within the English Department at the Teachers’ Higher College of Laghouat in Algeria with a sample of twenty four (24) full-time teachers. The obtained data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively through an exploratory descriptive design. By the end of the study, instructors reported favorable effects from CPDs in terms of collaborative work, improving their own abilities and knowledge in their primary subject field, and improving their students' behavior and discipline. However, the need to undergo more CPD programs was highly felt by the teachers to enhance their performance and knowledge in the areas of classroom management, introducing ICTs, and teaching in a multicultural setting.

Probing The Effect Of Information And Communication Technology- Aided Collaborative Learning On English As A Foreign Language Students Historical Literacy
The effectiveness of ICT in education is determined not just by the technology's features and functions, but also by the pedagogical method applied. In this regard, the current study aims to demonstrate the impact of ICT-aided collaborative learning as a teaching strategy on EFL students’ American civilization/history literacy in higher education. A one-group quasi-experimental design was conducted with a sample of (30) third-year undergraduate students at the department of English at M’sila University, Algeria. To investigate the impact of this method on the students' performance in civilization, they received a pre and post-test based on Bloom's taxonomy targeting three levels: knowledge, comprehension, and analysis. The findings of the study revealed a positive impact of the ICT-aided collaborative learning method on students' civilization knowledge and comprehension, but no effect on their level of analysis and evaluation. Finally, to ensure the effectiveness of supporting ICTs with collaborative learning in teaching civilization/history a variety of well-designed tasks is recommended to target different cognitive processes

Integrating ICT-aided Collaborative Learning in Civilization Instruction
Abstract Higher education research continually emphasizes the need of preparing technology to be utilized as a tool rather than an end in and of itself. However, the effectiveness of ICT in education is determined not just by the technology's features and functions, but also by the pedagogical method applied. In this regard, the current study aims at depicting the impact of ICT-aided collaborative learning as a teaching strategy on EFL students’ American Civilization/history literacy in higher education. Along a whole semester, a one group quasi- experimental design was conducted with a sample of thirty (30) third-year under-graduate students at the department of English at M’sila University, Algeria. To investigate the impact of this teaching method on the students' performance in civilization, they received pre and a posttest inspired from Bloom taxonomy targeting three levels: knowledge, comprehension, and analysis. The findings of the study reveal a positive impact of the ICT-aided collaborative learning method on students' civilization knowledge and comprehension, but no effect on their level of analysis and evaluation. As a conclusion, to ensure the effectiveness of supporting ICTs with collaborative learning in teaching civilization a variety of well-designed tasks is highly recommended to target different cognitive processes. An Overview on Sampling in Research Methodology
Abstract Research is defined as a studious inquiry or examination, particularly investigation or experimentation aimed at the discovery and interpretation of facts, revision of accepted theories or laws in light of new facts, or gathering of data on a specific topic (Webster, 1985). To generate data, it is not always easy or essential to use or reach the entire study population, because a representative sample can provide the information required. Thus, the researcher should select a sample from which to generalize the findings. The issue of sampling is one of the factors of research design that field researchers usually overlook, and much of the discussion of fieldwork research focuses on how researchers select their samples and what this means for the knowledge acquired by their research. Furthermore, because there are various types of sampling techniques and methods, the researcher must be aware of the distinctions in order to select the appropriate sample method for the study. In this regard, the current paper casts light on the various types of sampling procedures and methods and explains how to conduct sampling. Key words: Research, sampling, types, methods, techniques, field work

Algerian Higher Education Efl Teachers' Perceptions Of Ict’s Integration In Civilization Classes
Higher education research continually emphasizes the need of integrating technology as a tool rather than an end in and of itself, a tool whose primary goal is to assist students in becoming more engaged learners and to increase their academic achievement. In light of the rapid expansion of networking technologies around the world, as well as the reforms undertaken by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education, the purpose of this research paper is to delve into current civilization teaching practices in EFL classes, as well as the extent to which ICTs are integrated into civilization classes. To achieve this objective, this study used the descriptive method. Data were collected by a means of an online questionnaire administered on a sample of 25 civilization teachers of different teaching career experience from different Algerian universities. The results support teachers' favourable views of ICTs' effectiveness, despite the limited use in their classes. Out of this study, a set of recommendations made by the teachers appeal for increased teacher collaboration and teamwork, relevance of teachers' professional development oriented toward integrating ICTs in civilisation teaching, increased use of ICTs, and a balanced focus on both historical and cultural components of the targeted civilization in the EFL classroom. EFL Students’ Perception about Online Learning of Written Expression during the Pandemic-19
Abstract The world's experience during Pandemic-19 resulted in a surge in demand for online education, which rapidly infiltrated school districts and universities. In this regard, an online survey based on a semi-structured questionnaire was conducted with a sample of 60 EFL second-year students from M'sila University's Department of English regarding their experience of distant learning of written expression, which is one of the basic modules in learning English. Through this questionnaire we tried to shed light on their motivation, their needs, their active participation, the frequency of online learning use and their assessment. The obtained results revealed that the most critical issues are technological issues, prompted by teachers' lack of technical skills and teaching styles that are not well adapted to the online world. Furthermore, students claimed that because of the lack of interaction and boredom, written expression courses are less motivating in online classes. Moreover, it was observed that teachers used a variety of teaching methods in the classroom to promote students' writing abilities, as opposed to online learning. A set of suggestions and recommendations are provided by the end. Key words : Pandemic-19 ; Written expression ; EFL ; Students, E-learning

A Holistic Theory View about Second Language Corrective Feedback
Enter Despite the fact that the impact of corrective feedback on second language acquisition has sparked considerable debate among researchers and theorists, it is commonly used as a pedagogical method in L2 classrooms and is supported by various SLA theories, each with its own claims, arguments, principles, and stances. In this paper, the definition and typology of corrective feedback are presented, followed by a description of three theoretical underpinnings of CF, which reflect three dimensions: cognitive, social, and psychological. The socio-cognitive theory is then described as a comprehensive theory that incorporates all three dimensions. Last but not least, a series of corrective feedback pedagogic implications are provided from a socio-cognitve perspective.

Critical Discourse Analysis of the Political Speech of the Algerian President, Abdelmajid Tebboune, after Contracting the COVID-19
In This article focuses on utilizing Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) in studying Arabic political discourse. The aim of the paper is to search the intended ideologies and the critical linguistic aspects in the political speech delivered by the Algerian President, Abdelmajid Tebboune, while at hospital in Germany on 13th December, 2020. The study puts these themes in their social and political contexts, with an emphasis on the lexicon used. The speech has been extracted from YouTube. So as to achieve the main objective of the paper, CDA is used as a theoretical framework to explore the speech. Fairclough's three-dimensional model of CDA is used to analyse the data obtained. Macro and micro analyses were conducted in an effort to connect social and linguistic practices. The results of the paper disclose that the speech under study has its distinguishing characteristics and that language was used diligently to reach the intended objectives of the speaker.

EFL Teachers' Perceptions on Blended Learning of Written Expression During Pandemic-19.
Writing is a challenging and nuanced endeavor; it is the most difficult of all the linguistic skills to master. This complexity frequently makes the teachers’ mission difficult and affects the students’ language learning comprehension and performance. However, with the rapid advancement of internet technology and the pandemic-19, blended-learning (abbreviated as BL) approach has been widely adopted and teachers become obliged to adapt to the new circumstances and try new teaching methods. The current paper aims at probing EFL teachers' perceptions of blended learning of written expression during pandemic-19. A survey was conducted with a sample of nine teachers of written expression module from the department of English at M’sila University. The findings demonstrate that teachers are dissatisfied with blended learning of written expression for a variety of reasons, and they offer a set of suggestions and recommendations based on their experiences. Key words: Written expression, perceptions, face-to-face instruction, on-line instruction, EFL, students.

Students’ Learning and Outcomes as Indicators of Quality Teaching in Higher Education
Abstract Quality Teaching is believed to be one of the controversial terms that raised debates among the scholars who have been divided into those who regard quality primarily as an outcome, and those who view it as a property. Another trend considers teaching as the never ending process of reduction of defects and so Quality Teaching can never be totally grasped and appraised. Accordingly, the issue of measuring quality teaching is highly crucial, and the choice of valid indicators to assess the quality of teaching is not yet standardized and is still challenging. Furthermore the emerging consensus explores that traditional teacher evaluation methods are inadequate and inconsequential in ensuring a quality teaching workforce. In this regard, the current paper attempts to introduce firstly a set of competitive definitions of quality teaching, and secondly shedding light on the new criteria for evaluation that rely more on student learning and outcomes, and also on multiple measures that are expected to ensure a more holistic assessment of teacher performance and initiatives. Finally, a series of considerations and recommendations are stated for the betterment of quality teaching. Keywords: assessment, learners, measurement, performance, university.

Learners with Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD): Insights and Solutions
A child’s academic success is often dependent on his or her ability to attend to tasks inside the classroom with minimal distraction. Such ability, in fact, enables the child to acquire necessary information, complete assignments, and participate in classroom activities and discussions (Forness & Kavale, 2001). Among the deficits that a child may suffer from at the level of his attention ability is the ADHD Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder which is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. The current paper aims at helping all staff involved in teaching and learning to support children with ADHD by providing them with an illustrative insight into ADHD by defining it, introducing its symptoms and diagnosis and the risk factors for ADHD. Furthermore, a proposed strategy for the adequate instruction of children with ADHD is presented, and then an explanation of a proposed program for children with ADHD is provided. This program incorporates three main elements: Academic Instruction; Behavioral Interventions; and Classroom accommodations. Finally, it is worth noting that most of the scientific research studies confirmed that treatment, which involves medications, and behavioral interventions 2 won't cure ADHD definitely, but it can help reduce symptoms. Key words: ADHD, diagnosis, attention, hyperactivity

The Impact of the Cooperative Learning of Idioms on EFL Learners’ Fluency
Idioms, indeed, constitute a notoriously difficult area of foreign language learning and teaching because, by definition, idioms are conventionalized expressions whose overall meaning cannot be determined from the meaning of their constituent parts, and they are conceived as the natural decoders of cultural aspects in real life settings and a major component of native-like communication. Thus, the issue of teaching idioms in EFL classroom needs a special pedagogical method to foster the learners’ communicative skills. The current research paper attempts to scrutinize the impact of the cooperative learning of idioms upon EFL learners’ fluency. Therefore, it follows a one group pretest/ post-test quasi-experimental design, with a sample group of fifteen (15) first-year students at the Department of English at M’ sila University. Their fluency was evaluated before and after the intervention sessions within which the participants were requested to implement peer-to-peer tutoring for a whole semester. The findings indicated that learning idioms cooperatively fosters the learner’s fluency through facilitating the vocabulary retention (many words within one unit), and enabling him to understand the thoughts, emotions and views of the native speakers, and providing the learner with information about the underlying parameters of English. Moreover, it raises his awareness of figurative language to have better communication strategies. Thus, the consideration of culture in designing and developing course materials is highly recommended to reach higher level of oral proficiency in English language. Keywords: Idioms; Fluency; EFL learner; Peer-to-peer tutoring.

Language acquisition socialization: Sociocognitive and complexity theory perspectives
Although it dates back to the early 1980s, language socialization research is still regarded as one of the relatively recent realms of scholarship in applied linguistics. It is based on the premise of bringing together an analysis of social, cultural, and cognitive dimensions of situated language learning. Employing this perspective, the current research has a three-fold purpose: (a) to maintain language acquisition aspects that are represented by social, cognitive, and social-cognitive underpinnings, (b) to shed light upon the theoretical backgrounds of both sociocognitive theory and complexity theory, which have been purposefully selected to be discussed due to their bearings on language socialization, and their sharing of the view that the cognitive and the social are intricately interwoven and mutually constitutive, and (c) to depict the commonalities and differences of the two theories in order to point out the extent of convergence and divergence that they have with language socialization as well as the extent they reach in shaping a meaningful language acquisition research agenda.
