دراسة ميدانية لاسخدام اللغة الأم لتعليم اللغة الانجليزية
Effective communication is one of the aims of the foreign language learning/teaching process. However, in some cases, communication breaks down; learners fail to get the message sent either by the teacher or by their peers. Teachers try different strategies to improve communication in class involving as many learners as possible. In other words, they seek to promote classroom interaction. L1Translation could be one of the strategies used to enhance and facilitate communication. In recent years, much attention has been given by several researchers ( Leonardi, 2010) to the issue of mother tongue use and the revival of translation as an integral part in foreign language teaching in different parts of the world. The point that is worth raising, at this level, is that using translation in foreign language classes is a controversial issue and generally viewed with suspicion. Some consider it a useful pedagogical tool; however, others regard it as harmful.

Probing The Effect of Information And Communication Technology- Aided Collaborative Learning on English as A Foreign Language Students Historical Literacy
The effectiveness of ICT in education is determined not just by the technology's features and functions, but also by the pedagogical method applied. In this regard, the current study aims to demonstrate the impact of ICT-aided collaborative learning as a teaching strategy on EFL students’ American civilization/history literacy in higher education. A one-group quasi-experimental design was conducted with a sample of (30) third-year undergraduate students at the department of English at M’sila University, Algeria. To investigate the impact of this method on the students' performance in civilization, they received a pre and post-test based on Bloom's taxonomy targeting three levels: knowledge, comprehension, and analysis. The findings of the study revealed a positive impact of the ICT-aided collaborative learning method on students' civilization knowledge and comprehension, but no effect on their level of analysis and evaluation. Finally, to ensure the effectiveness of supporting ICTs with collaborative learning in teaching civilization/history a variety of well-designed tasks is recommended to target different cognitive processes

Algerian Higher Education Efl Teachers' Perceptions Of Ict’s Integration In Civilization Classes
Higher education research continually emphasizes the need of integrating technology as a tool rather than an end in and of itself, a tool whose primary goal is to assist students in becoming more engaged learners and to increase their academic achievement. In light of the rapid expansion of networking technologies around the world, as well as the reforms undertaken by the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education, the purpose of this research paper is to delve into current civilization teaching practices in EFL classes, as well as the extent to which ICTs are integrated into civilization classes. To achieve this objective, this study used the descriptive method. Data were collected by a means of an online questionnaire administered on a sample of 25 civilization teachers of different teaching career experience from different Algerian universities. The results support teachers' favourable views of ICTs' effectiveness, despite the limited use in their classes. Out of this study, a set of recommendations made by the teachers appeal for increased teacher collaboration and teamwork, relevance of teachers' professional development oriented toward integrating ICTs in civilisation teaching, increased use of ICTs, and a balanced focus on both historical and cultural components of the targeted civilization in the EFL classroom. What Suppresses Learners’ Creativity? Creativity Barriers of English Students at M’sila University, Algeria
Creativity is a valuable element in teaching and learning. Nevertheless, some factors may get in the learners' way of creativity .Accordingly, the aims of this paper is to uncover the possible barriers that hinder creativity and to highlight the strategies that boost it in the classroom. This study is based on the hypothesis that university students can be negatively affected by a number of factors. To test the hypothesis the descriptive method was adopted. A questionnaire was distributed to 37 students of English at M’sila university. Findings of the study reveal that the majority of students are not facing obstacles; however, one clearly noticed barrier to creativity is ‘time inadequacy’. On these bases, some implications are suggested to help learners foster their creativity and overcome whatever barrier they may encounter.

Reading Novels as a Bridge to Creativity in the Speaking Class
More recent attention has focused on the topic of creativity due to the crucial role it plays in several domains including bussiness, art and education. Educationally speaking, creativity is welcomed after being disregarded. Interestingly, decision makers, educators and teachers are working hard to look for effective ways to foster creativity in EFL classes and to help students be creative. There are two primary aims of this study: to ascertain the different strategies for enhancing learners' creativity and to investigate the teacher's role as a creativity booster. The study is based on the hypothesis that the teacher is playing a significant role in boosting learners' creativityand that there exists some strategies to foster it. In order to test the hypotheses, the descriptive method is followed. Hence, a questionnaire was distributed to 40 English university students who were asked some questions regarding the teacher's role in enhaning creativity and their attidues regarding techniques for boosting creativity. A second tool of research is the classroom observation that has been carried out to observe students performances during the speaking class. The findings of the study indicate the great contribution of the teacher as a creativity enabler. Additionally, they determine some of the factors and strategies that foster creativity (including quality of material, ICT, teacher's positive feedback..etc). Importantly, some recommendations and creative students' performance will be illustrated in the presentation. Collectively, creativity can be boosted if the process and the material introduced is reconsidered. key words Creativity; Strategies; Teacher's role; Classroom; Boosting Creativity.
